Live Studio Production

Students can stage, shoot and record a live program.  The studio allows for live switching between cameras, video tape and dvd sources.  Preview monitors with individual recording capabilities allow students to review their individual or collective work.  To top it off-- programs can be broadcast LIVE throughout the school!!

 

Field Production

We have steadily acquired an range of equipment included digital video and digital photo cameras, tripods, cases so students and staff can check out and use to produce media of projects.

  

Post Production

The lab has three dedicated editing systems that allows students to assemble previously shot video, music, graphics and photos into a video program.

 

Journalism

The lab also has three dedicated machines for journalism and scripted production projects.  Students are able to input their story, dictate what ‘wrap around’ content they want-- such as graphics, video, music and then rehearse of record their program.  The systems have web camera and built in teleprompter which increase reading, fluency and allows the students to review performance.

 

The next step

Our next goal is to create an interactive campus-wide environment so each classroom can produce media projects, upload as a podcast and in turn the television station-- KJWJ-TV can download for rebroadcast during the “morning show” targeted for next fall.
