For the 2nd time in 3 years, students in 3rd thru 5th grade will be participating in the Texas Bluebonnet Award voting at the end of January, 2008. Established in 1979, this award encourages Texas children to read more books, explore a variety of books, develop powers of discrimination, and identify the author of their choice.
The recipient of the award each year is determined by the vote of eligible children for their favorite book. In order to be an eligible voter, students must read a minimum of 5 books from the master list of 15 to 20 titles that is prepared annually by the Texas Bluebonnet Award Committee.
