Every student at J. Will Jones gets the opportunity to work in the computer lab at least once a week during their scheduled ancillary time. The computer lab activities are designed to teach the students how to use technology effectively and safely. Students also use software and internet-based programs to extend their classroom learning activities.
For example students, in Pre-K to 2nd Grade learn how to use the mouse & keyboard properly, identify computer parts, and practice math and reading skills. Students in Grades 3 to 5, begin keyboarding practice, logging on to the computer, internet searches for classroom projects in science and social studies.
They also practice reading comprehension and math facts. Below is just a small sampling of the fun and exciting activities we do each day.
