Our math program excels in many areas. Primary mathematics are aimed at developing a solid understanding of important mathematical concepts, especially number concepts. Students build on an extensive use of patterns and representatives with concrete objects to make generalizations that lead to the understanding of number and operation.

Math Night
Our Math Night was a huge success. What better than to spend an evening with the family, learning math at specifically designed stations while eating hotdogs and listening to jazz!

We emphasize solid understanding of the meaning and uses of whole numbers and the meaning and applications of the basic operations.
Students are to develop computational skills within a variety of contexts and use daily problem solving connected to other aspects of mathematics and other content areas. Students are to use tools such as manipulatives and calculators to solve a variety of problems and develop concepts. The study of geometry, measure is undertaken to enable students to solve problems.

Intermediate mathematics is aimed at broad understanding of mathematics, within which students develop proficiency in the basic algorithms (computational rules) of arithmetic for whole numbers.
