Imagine-- what if you can’t afford food or clothing for your child, despite working two jobs? Hard to believe, but its a reality for many of our parents. Tough to even get your child to school, much less be able to contribute to a PTA. But do you love your child any less? No.
J. Will Jones serves some of the most under-privileged children in the country. Homelessness, family crisis, learning difficulties, extreme poverty-- all these problems so often talked about, but rarely seen in most areas of town. They are all represented here at J. Will Jones Elementary.
With the financial shortfalls in education, we rely more and more on community support. These are the programs that make a difference to each and every child. And to their parents. At Jones we provide “Learning For All” with training programs for adults in language, literacy, basic math and proper child care. All directed at raising up the entire community and giving everyone a chance.
That is why our mission is so extremely critical. We DO make the difference. Education is the only true key to unlock these children from the grip of poverty into a boundless future. But,
